Candle Care & Safety
It's important to treat your candles with love and care to ensure you get the best burn every time. Below are a few tips, tricks and safety measures.
Trim Your Wicks. Before each burn, trim your wick to 3-5mm to remove any "mushrooming". Trimmed wicks will encourage a cleaner, brighter burn.
The First Burn. For container candles - let your candle burn to the ends of the container to create a full melt pool. This promotes an even burn for the life of the candle and helps to prevent tunneling.
Do not exceed 4 hours per burn. We recommend not burning your candle for longer than 4 hours at a time.
Be Mindful of Your Surroundings. Never leave a candle unattended, within reach of children or pets or near a draught. Candles should always be placed on heat resistant surfaces. Moulded candles must have a plate underneath to catch the wax.
Burn to the Black. Only burn your TOD to the top of the black. This is a deliberate stopping point to prevent overheating and any cracking in the glass.
Keep your TOD Clean. Keep the wax pool free of trimmings and debris. A wick trimmer or lid will help with this.
